My Bio

Ohayo gozaimasu, minna-san! If you're here reading this here, it must mean that you're really bored or you've seen everything else that's exciting on the Web. First off, let me give you a little bit of info on myself. My real name is Timothy Georgi and I currently reside in Orem, Utah, here from being in So Cal and Chicago. I was born on March 23, 1976 in Kailua, Hawaii, on the island of Oahu. For all you big Fushigi Yuugi fans out there that are curious, my Seishuku is Uruki, one of Genbu. My family lived in Hawaii until I was 3 years old, then we relocated to Utah, where I basically lived for a majority of my life. There is one exception to that though. In 1995, I served for two years as a missionary in Manila, Philippines. Going from the cold of Utah to the heat of the Philippines was different. While in the Philippines, I *did* learn their official language, Tagalog. That and English are the only languages I know. (One day I'll start working on Japanese.) Some of the things I like to do include the following: writing, drawing (on occasion), watching anime, using computers... stuff like that. As for my net activities, I've been involved in multiple things. I've worked as the graphic designer for Elfquest dot Com, the official website of Warp Graphics, the publishers of the Elfquest comics series. I do some Elfquest-based storywriting/roleplaying with some of my friends on America Online. I'm also the Web Infrastructure Manager for Anime Reactor, a new anime and manga con which happens each year in Chicago, Illinois. If you're into the anime convention scene, we hope to see you at Reactor. In my alternate life, I'm currently "self-employed", looking for some more permanent work and hoping to go back to school sometime soon. When playing in the freelance arena, I do work as a graphic/layout designer and web producer, *still* hoping to break into the anime side of designing some time in the near future. I also play publisher and editor for the online web magazine, @anime! , a magazine dedicated to bringing coolie stuff about anime and manga to the rest of the world. If you'd like to see what happening there, head over to the @anime! site. What else is there? Not much. Mine is a boring life, looking for a bit more excitement. That's why I'm into anime I suppose. Oh, and how DID I get into anime? Well, I can blame a few corporate entities for that. I did grow up with the usual stuff, Robotech, Battle of the Planets, Voltron and the like. That was back int he day when I didn't really know what anime was. I mean, I knew those shows came from Japan... Ignorance is bliss sometimes I suppose. Then, years later, after delving in comic books for a while, the Sci-Fi Channel started their annual anime marathons. We watched intently over the weekend that it started, seeing things like Project A-ko, Dominion Tank Police and, the show that got me hooked, The Venus Wars. I don't really know exactly HOW I got hooked. Maybe I was just starving for something new. Needless to say, the next day, I was down at the local video store searching for anime. I'm now finally getting into stuff that the rest of the anime community has passed by as yesterday's stuff. I've been trying to catch up a bit. Currently, I've been getting into the likes of .hack//SIGN, Excel Saga and Chobits. I'm also slowly working thorugh a bunch of fansub tapes and digisubs for series things like Angelic Layer, Card Captor Sakura, Ai Yori Aoshi, to name a few. All are equally cool in their own right. But I never compain with more anime . :) That's it for now. ja ne!
